Summerset – Main Building Whangarei

SSP Engineering successfully completed the fabrication and installation of structural steel works for the Whangārei Regional Main Building. The project involved the delivery of high-quality primary structural steel across multiple construction zones, in line with architectural and structural design requirements.

Our scope included detailed shop drawings, off-site fabrication, and on-site installation using predominantly bolted connections to minimise site welding and improve efficiency. All steelwork was blast-cleaned and primed off-site to specification, ensuring durability and compliance with project standards.

SSP Engineering also provided full quality assurance documentation, inspection and test plans, non-destructive testing coordination, and as-built shop drawings for project records. The works were delivered in accordance with engineering specifications, health and safety requirements, and quality expectations, contributing to the successful construction of this key regional facility.
