Foodstuffs North Island (FSNI) commissioned a new coolstore and food distribution centre to service the Northland region, replicating the design and functionality of their state-of-the-art facility at The Landing in Auckland. This project reflects FSNI’s ongoing investment in Northland and their commitment to strengthening regional infrastructure.

SSP Engineering was engaged to fabricate and install all structural steel for the project. Our scope included the development of detailed shop drawings, workshop fabrication, application of protective paint coatings, and full on-site installation.

The completed facility features a 2,000sqm warehouse with five telescopic dock levellers, a 7,200sqm fully sealed concrete yard with landscaping, EV chargers and car parking, truck parking and washdown facilities, coolstore and freezer areas with racking, modern office spaces, staff amenities including bathrooms, lockers and showers, kitchen and meeting rooms, and an integrated stormwater detention system.

This completed facility now serves as a benchmark for future Foodstuffs distribution centres across New Zealand.
